Working with museums

Mystic Seaport Museum, Connecticut

“Sea as Muse Exhibition” on show at Mystic Seaport museum. A collection of bas-relief panels carved of Teak wood were on display. Scandinavian artist Karl von Rydingsvard was commissioned by Arthur Curtiss James owner of the Aloha II to produce all the woodcarvings for his yacht built in 1910. The museum encouraged all visitors to interact with the carved replica panel that I produced. We hoped that this experience was helpful in understanding the process of carving.

Many stages are necessary in the completion of a project. A meeting or a phone conversation with the client is necessary at first. Then a drawing will be proposed and agreed with the client.
